The Back Room speakeasy on the Lower East Side transports visitors back in time to the prohibition era. The dimly lit space is filled with antique furnishings, vintage décor, and historical artifacts that make it feel like a time capsule from the 1920s. In addition to the clandestine entrance and secret room, The Back Room also offers a selection of classic cocktails, many of which were popular during Prohibition. Sipping on a cocktail from a teacup while sitting in one of the cozy booths, it’s easy to imagine what it was like to be part of the illicit and glamorous world of New York City’s speakeasies during the Roaring Twenties.
