Located at the Hotel Chelsea, El Quijote first opened its doors in 1930, and it has since functioned as a popular clubhouse for creatives who would enjoy their drinks and engage in candid conversations. Despite closing for a brief few years, the restaurant’s décor and ambiance have remained largely unchanged, with red leather booths, a glass etching of Don Quijote’s portrait, and a bar that attracts both former residents and current Chelsea locals. Among the must-try dishes are the plate of anchovies and boquerones, best paired with the sweet-crunchy pan con tomate.
